BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Read the small print.
It changes the picture.
- Specify the inspection task and required payloads before comparing quotes.
- SDK access does not make the whole robot or every payload open-source hardware.
- Confirm the exact edition, current destination availability and delivered price with the seller. A listed product is not a live-stock guarantee.
LIVING WITH THE HARDWARE
What ownership involves.
- Assembly
- A complete industrial robot platform with separately integrated payloads. Confirm the supplied battery, controller, charging equipment and payload installation with the selected package.
- Computer & setup
- SDK development uses a computer with compatible Python packages and a robot user account. The SDK and robot software versions must match.
- Connectivity
- Spot supports direct Ethernet, its own Wi-Fi access point and joining an existing Wi-Fi network. Coverage and payload networking need planning for the deployment.
- Development access
- The public Spot SDK includes Python clients, protocol definitions and payload interfaces for controlling the robot and reading data. Hardware ownership does not imply unrestricted internal firmware access.
